CasimpanTACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, Jan 19 (PIA) –- An official of the PNP in Eastern Visayas said that modernization of the Philippine National Police in Eastern Visayas is part of 2012 laid out plans and programs for the PNP office.Police Senior Superintendent Elizar Egloso, chief of the regional police community relations divisions, disclosed that for this year, the PNP will continue and sustain the Integrated Transformation Program (ITP) in coordination with the active support of the community. The said program which include enforcing the law, preventing and controlling crime, maintaining peace and order ,and ensuring public safety and internal security will be encoded in the computer system of the PNP. Egloso said that the PNP office has started to input all blotter logs into the agency’s computerized system. To date, 20 units of computers had been distributed to police stations in Tacloban City, Ormoc and other cities in the region where all encoded data can also be viewed in Camp Crame. Part of keeping police personnel on their toes is the periodic performance audit to determine knowledge and ability to do an assigned job. Egloso stressed the importance of a professional, dynamic, and highly motivated PNP working in partnership with a responsive community towards the attainment of a safe place to live, work, and do business in. For this year, the PNP will continue to strengthen police visibility in public places like public markets and the city’s malls. A mobile patrol car will also be seen going around as deterrence against crime. Should budget of the PNP allows, all personnel will be provided his own service firearm for protection. (PIA-8) |
