PIA Press Release Saturday, January 21, 2012 Hagedorn graces Chinese New Year issue of PIA ST@RQUEZON CITY, Jan. 21 (PIA) – Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn is proud to see the fruits of his labor in making his city great.Hagedorn, in an interview with PIA Palawan writer Vicky Mendoza for PIA ST@R in its Chinese New Year issue on Jan. 23, shared his accomplishments and challenges since his first term as mayor of that city, now known as the home of the famous underground river. He also proudly announced the recent awards received by the city government that recognized his leadership success for pushing sustainable development in Puerto Princesa, which led them to the Hall of Fame for continuously winning the Clean and Green Award as the Cleanest City in the Philippines. The other recognitions he received were the ASEAN Environment Ministers Award and the inclusion of the Puerto Princesa Underground River in the New Seven Wonders of the World. Hagedorn also talked about the challenges he encountered as he continuously advocate for ecosystem protection and conservation and his efforts to maintain peace and order in the city. He also shared his plans for his last term as mayor.
