DepEd-Ifugao calls for close project monitoring

LAGAWE, Ifugao, Jan. 20 (PIA) -- In order to ensure standard and quality building in schools in the province, the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) here enjoined the municipal engineering offices where school projects are being implemented to closely monitor these during their construction stage.

Supt. Estela Carino also issued this order to Honorio Pumihic Jr,, Physical Facilities Coordinator of DEPED-Ifugao to try his best in the validation, monitoring and inspection of all projects implemented in the Division to ensure quality construction of the buildings.

Carino said she made the order because she believes that any construction with close monitoring and supervision will lead to quality output that will minimize early repair or rehabilitation of newly constructed buildings.

She informed the different mayors that there are recipient schools in their respective municipalities for the construction/repair of school buildings under the Quick Response Fund (QRF), Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) and the School Base Repair and Maintenance Scheme (SBRMS) of the Department of Education. Some are ongoing while the others will start this month.

The ongoing school building projects funded under the QRF or calamity fund are the construction of new schools which were completely destroyed by typhoons Pedring and Quiel and the repair of damaged schools also caused by the same typhoons.

The projects under the BEFF involve the construction of the School’s water and sanitation facilities while those under the SBRMS are the repair of schools which are damaged due to the normal wear and tear caused by the passage of time and financed under the regular fund of DepEd.(JDP/DBC-PIA CAR,Ifugao)
