Guillermo ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Jan. 21 (PIA) -- Three fire incidents had already occurred in Capiz as of January 21 this year. Information Officer Marlon Garbo of the Roxas City Bureau of Fire Protection said the latest fire incident was recorded today after Llanas Marketing owned by Chinese National Stephen Chua was razed by fire at around 1:45 this morning. The initial damage of said fire incident was estimated at P3 million, Garbo said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The other fire events involved a rest house in Tanza, Roxas City and a residential house in Tico, Panay, Capiz. He said that no casualty was recorded in the three fire incidents, wherein damage reached P3.127 million. On the other hand, Garbo appealed to the public to take extra vigilance and precautions especially that summer season can already be felt. He said their office is also continuing the conduct of information and education campaign as well as fire drill in different barangays, schools and offices as well as other establishments like hospitals. In addition, Garbo stressed that aside from the series of lectures, they are likewise conducting inspection of establishments, boarding houses, apartments and dormitories, schools and similar edifices to ensure fire safety. Among the fire drill and lectures conducted by the Roxas City BFP were those conducted at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, Roxas City Hall, City Health Office, City Social and Development Office, Capiz provincial capitol, Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion as well as in the different campuses of Capiz State University.
