Isabela towns to host mass wedding ritesALICIA, Isabela, January 22 (PIA) -- The local government of Alicia and Ilagan have set a mass wedding on February 14 and 27, 2012 at the Alicia community center and Ilagan community center to wed unmarried couples.
Mayor Maria Claire Reyes said the free mass wedding is a regular activity of the municipality to help live-in and unmarried couples legalize their union.
Mayor Reyes said this will lessen the burden of couples in financing their marriage as the local government will shoulder all the expenses for their wedding.
She urged her constituents particularly those who wish to avail of the town’s free mass wedding program to visit the local civil registrar office to settle necessary documents and file them in order to be registered in the civil registry.
The local civil registrar of the municipality advised interested couples to undergo pre-marriage counseling and apply for a marriage license. (TCB/MGE/PIA- Isabela)
