Limay town wins Seal of Goodhousekeeping awardby Joelyn G. Baluyut
LIMAY, Bataan, Jan. 24 (PIA) -- An emerging town in this province won the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) awarded by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The municipality of Limay is now a national awardee of the SGH for the year 2011 after passing the SGH third round validation and assessment conducted by DILG from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15, last year.
“This award will further motivate me and my office to buckle down to work for the interest of my constituents, adding transparency and honesty in governance will make the public trust the government,” said Mayor Ver Roque.
According to DILG, SGH is in line with the department’s commitment to aggressively scale up interventions to elevate the practice of governance that values transparency, accountability, participation and performance into an institutionalized status.
This project aims to recognize Local Government Units (LGUs) with good governance performance in internal housekeeping particularly on four areas such as good planning, sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability and valuing of performance monitoring. (WLB/JGB- PIA 3)
