Cebuano news: Amerika, Pilipinas nagkasabot palig-onon military ties

DIPOLOG CITY, Jan. 24 (PIA) -- Ang Estados Unidos ug Pilipinas nagkasabot nga palig-onon ang military cooperation human mibisita dinhi sa nasud ang upat ka mga senador sa Amerika kaniadtong Martes.

Nakigtagbo si Presidente Benigno Simeon C. Aquino nila ni Senador John McCain, Joe Lieberman, Sheldon Whitehouse ug Kelly Ayotte nga mibisita sa Palasyo karong bag-o. Silang upat puros membro sa US Senate Armed Services Committee.

Gipasabot ni Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin kinsa nakigtagbo usab sa nasampit nga mga senador sa Amerika, nga ang presensya sa mga Amerikano makita dinhi sa Asia_Pacific region tungod kay aduna silay mga base-militar sa nasud sa Australia ug Singapore ug gumikan niini adunay pagahimoong military exercises dinhi sa rehiyon lakip na ang Pilipinas.

Hinoon, giklaro ni Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda nga dili magbutang ug base-militar ang Amerika dinhi sa nasud.

Gidayeg ni Senador John McCain si Presidente Aquino sa nakuha niining taas nga approval rating.
