DTI- Ifugao funds Pasalubong Center for micro-enterprisesLAGAWE, Ifugao,Jan. 25 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here funded the construction of a pasalubong center in an effort to facilitate selling and promotion of eselected local products of different micro-enterprises in the province.
Jobal Malingan, Manager of the CORDI Coffee Producers Consumers’ Cooperative, said that thekiosk or “Pasalubong Center” will be used by preselected micro enterprises from this capital town and other nearby towns in the province to promote and sell their products inone shop/store.
Malingan disclosed that this center will enable customers to see and choose differentproducts from different local food manufacturer ranging from rice, fruit wines, taro cookies, pickles, carrot and pineapple juice, passion fruit juice and herbal tea to various roasted ground coffee brands in one place.
“With this project, customers do not have to actually go to every town to try its local flavor or products they are known for,” Malingan said.
The pasalubong kiosk is located at town plaza through the initial agreement entered by and between the Provincial Local Government Unit and Cordi Producers/Consumers Cooperative, which is the primary beneficiary.
The day to day operation of the facility would be the task of a management team selected from among the qualified members of the cooperative and will be composed of a project manager; cashier/bookkeeper and treasurer.
