NSO conducts consumer expectation surveyby Louie T. Cueto
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, Jan. 25 (PIA) -- The provincial office of the National Statistics Office (NSO) is currently conducting the January 2012 Consumer Expectations Survey (CES).
CES aims to provide quick and regular assessment of consumer perceptions and expenditures plans as a tool for evaluating the consumer’s own financial situation, key economic indicators and the economy’s condition over a reference period.
NSO Provincial Officer Efren C. Armonia said that this survey which started Jan. 23 and will end on Feb. 3 is the 30th in a series of surveys since July 2004. This is a joint undertaking of NSO and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as the funding agency.
The CES is a household-based survey on the consumers’ assessment of their financial situation, the economic condition of the country and the overall performance of the government.
It is being administered on a sample basis at the household level drawn through a stratified multi-stage random sampling with a total sample of about 5,000 households.
“We are requesting for the full cooperation and support of our respondents in this survey,” Armonia said. (CNS/LTC/PIA-4B)
