Dr. Mildred Abella, provincial agriculturist, said they have started distributing seeds of different vegetables to some identified marginalized households in the province as part of the provincial government’s effort to provide food to poor Cagayano families. She said the program is a segue to the "gulayan sa likod bahay" program implemented in the previous years but the scheme is enhanced as they strictly monitor each beneficiary to ensure that the seeds are planted and utilized. The seeds distributed include eggplant, ampalaya, pechay, radish, okra, squash, kangkong, pepper, tomato, spinach, and the like. (TCB/OTB/PIA-2) |
