Abra town constructs new municipal buildingby Maritess B. Beñas
BUCAY, Abra, Jan. 25(PIA) -- The Land Bank of the Philippines – Bangued Branch had released the amount of P8.5 million loan to the local government unit (LGU) of Bucay for the construction of its new municipal building.
This is part of the continuing efforts of Mayor Victorino B. BaronaJr. to provide better delivery of government services to the people.
Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Carlito Barreras, in an interview, bared that the new municipal building will be more spacious, enough to accommodate all the organic personnel of the LGU including all the other national government agencies operating in the municipality like the Judiciary, the Commission on Elections, Department of Agrarian Reform, among others which have not been devolved to the LGUs.
Other infrastructure projects had been accomplished in the town proper with the financial assistance of Congresswoman Ma. Jocelyn V. Bernos. These are the construction of the new public market with funds amounting to P2 million and the construction of a farm-to-market road (FMR) in the amount of P500,000.00. This FMR is located within the vicinity of the public market which serves as an access road to the public market.
Meanwhile, Barreras also gave updates on the housing project in the municipalitylocated in Brgy. Siblong. He said the National Housing Authority had already
given the initial funds for the site development. The documentary requirements were already submitted to the Central Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the titling of the lot where the housing project will be established. (JDP/MTBB-PIA CAR,Abra)
