Nueva Ecija sees new opportunities in ITCABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija, Jan. 26 (PIA) -- Nueva Ecija is looking at Information Technology (IT) as another front of development next to agriculture.
Governor Aurelio Umali said on Wednesday that the provincial council is deliberating on the creation of an IT hub at the Old Capitol Grounds in Cabanatuan City.
As soon as the council completes the deliberations this February, Governor Umali is hoping the project will start this year.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Nueva Ecija Association of Technical Vocational Institutions (NEATVI) expressed confidence that Nuevo Ecijanos are ripe for employment and deployment in the IT sector.
As far IT is concerned, both institutions said Novo Ecijanos dabbled and excelled on courses like graphic designs, AutoCAD and web designs.
Some of the province's IT champions took part in the Central Luzon Regional Skills Competition being held in Bulacan. (WLB/LDRP/PIA-3)
