FranciscoNAIC, Cavite, Jan. 27 (PIA) -- The local government of this coastal municipality led by Mayor Edwina Mendoza recently launched the Philippine Marine Turtle Protection Program aimed to the save the endangered sea turtles from being extinguished. Hundreds of sea turtles who laid their eggs are found in Barangay Labac and was now under the care of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and the Bantay Kalikasan group. Once hatched and able to swim, they will be sent off to the sea. According to Ms. Eva Pangilinan of MENRO, thousands of sea turtle eggs are being protected by their office with the help of the Bantay Kalikasan in the area.
