BulayunganLAGAWE, Ifugao, Jan. 29 (PIA)--The Department of Agriculture through the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, in cooperation with the Department of Education, will conduct the competitive examination for the Fisheries Scholarship Program on March 17, 2012. The exam is open to high school graduates/graduating students who are Filipino citizens, not more than 20 years old and certified by their school heads as among the top ten of the graduating class in which they belong and not have earned any units in college. The applicants must be of good moral standing, physically fit, free from criminal, civil or administrative liability, and genuinely interested to pursue studies in fisheries. The exams will cover items in Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), English (grammar and reading), Basic Fisheries and Mathematics (Applied Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry). The Department of Education here announced over the local radio station that the application forms can obtained from the DEPED Division Office and the BFAR regional offices. Application forms should be submitted on or before February 14, 2012. The testing center for Regions 1 and the Cordillera Region is at the La Union National High School in San Fernando, La Union and results of the examination shall be announced by the Department of Agriculture in May 2012.
