German Development Office to support poverty-alleviation drive in Villanueva: Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst (DED) SCOPE Senior Consultant Matthias Niggel (extreme left) announced recently the approval of a technical and financial support for the implementation of the “Convergence and Poverty Reduction Programs in Villanueva”. Initiated by STEAG State Power Inc. (SPI), the program aims to set-up a comprehensive poverty-alleviation plan in the host communities of the Mindanao Power Plant in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental following a multi-stakeholder approach in the planning and implementation of development programs and initiatives in the area. SPI believes that addressing the concerns of the community requires a more focused and convergent approach by all stakeholders in the area. For several years now, SPI had been implementing a comprehensive social development program in the area. (PIA-10)
