Dr. Anthony Palomar, Acting Medical Quarantine Officer (with michrophone) based at the Kalibo International Airport, Kalibo, Aklan said that in the absence of a Thermal Scanner in the airport, thermal strips are instead used in monitoring the body temperature of passengers especially from direct international flights landing in Kalibo. Thermal strips are placed on the forehead of passengers who looked having colds or fever. If the strip changes color indicating that the passenger has a fever, he will be escorted down from the plane and be brought to KIA's medical holding lounge for a thorough medical check up. KIA, though not well equipped with medical facilities to check on cases like this, is very well prepared in case anything goes wrong. Also inthe picture are CAAP-KIA Manager, Engr. Percy Malonesio and Dr. Ronald Lorenzo of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian-Aklan. (JERRamos/PIA) |
