(LEFT) Negros Oriental's PHCCI Manager Michael Hojas sharing the good news of the coop's income tax exemption in a gathering of cooperatives to mark the 2nd anniversary of RA 9520 or the Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008. PHCCI with its 32,000 members, is one of the biggest and most successful credit cooperative in the province. It is now also the first cooperative in the province to enjoy an income tax exemption from BIR. (RIGHT) Officers from various cooperatives under the Provincial Cooperative Development Council in Negros Oriental gathered at Bethel Guesthouse, Dumaguete City to mark the 2nd anniversary of RA 9520 or the Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008. During the forum, it was revealed that PHCCI - one of the largest and most successful cooperative in the province- has finally received its certificate of income tax exemption from BIR, making it the first cooperative in the province to do so.
