 QC OFWs. Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista distributes financial relief assistance to the city’s overseas Filipino contract workers strife-torn Libya. To alleviate their plight, the city appropriated P1 million for the grant of P5,000 cash assistance to each of the OFWs. Aside from the cash assistance, the city government will also provide a package of services and programs to cushion the impact of their employment dislocation. These include, among others, counseling and stress debriefing, medical check up, job placements and livelihood assistance programs. Joining the Mayor during the occasion are city administrator Victor Endriga, city treasurer Edgar Villanueva and Carlo Magno Abella, head of the city’s public employment and services office. (paiso) |
