 The on-going construction of farm-to-market road in Purok 6 San Agustin, Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte is funded under CY 2010 Lower House Fund amounting to Php. 2.0 million done through the initiative of Cong. Antonio F. Lagdameo, Jr. Project implementation period is set from May 18, 2011 to July 18, 2011, and it is now 60% accomplished. The 6m x 1,576.80 ln.m. road opening is seen to greatly benefit the farmers of the city. It will provide them with better market access to immediately distribute their farm products such as corn, coconut, among others. The road can also promote better access to services by the people of Samal. Consequently, the road project is projected to encourage farmers to produce more, boosting the local economy of Samal. In the years to come, Samal will not only become a prime tourist destination but also an agriculture product producer. (DPWH Davao del Norte/PIA XI) |
