 The 150th Jose Rizal Anniversary Conference on Nation and Culture was held on Saturday at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). The conference was convened by National Artist F. Sionil Jose and chaired by Angara, a long-time patron of the arts and advocate of cultural development. The panelists of the first plenary session on arts and culture prepare to give their individual insights. The second plenary session, focusing on culture and society, was highlighted by prominent names such as (L-R) Dr. Melba P. Magay, Mr. Jaime Antonio Jr., Mr. Lourd de Veyra, Senator Edgardo J. Angara as moderator, former Defense Sec. Gilbert Teodoro Jr., and Mr. Mario Miclat. The discussion on media and education, the new communication technologies made up the third plenary session of the conference. Senator Edgardo J. Angara moderated the debate among (L-R) Dr. Jose Wendell Capili, Mr. Bernardo Oca, Ms. Hope Sabanpan-Yu, Ms. Queena Lee-Chua, and Mr. Clodualdo del Mundo.
