 Singing. The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) signs a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Provincial Government of Cebu, Department of Education (DepEd), and the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Cebu Chapter for the repair and restoration of Gabaldon school buildings in Cebu. The project, dubbed as “Gabaldon Restoration Project”, aims to restore school heritage structures known as the Gabaldons, which are post-American war era school buildings that signified the beginning of the formal public education system in the Philippines, and to improve the learning environment of Cebuano schoolchildren. The MOA was signed by (L-R) LMP-Cebu Chapter President and Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy, RAFI President Roberto E. Aboitiz, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn F. Garcia, and DepEd 7 Regional Director Recaredo Borgonia. Government officials and heads of DepEd divisions witnessed the signing. The Gabaldon Restoration Project is supported by the Cebu Artists Inc., University of San Carlos-Conservation and Heritage Research Institute and Workshop, and United Architects of the Philippines.
