Ilocos Sur dads support PGMA

By Freddie G. Lazaro

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur (8 August) -- Members of the Philippine Councilor's League (PCL) in the province expressed their full support to the administration of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

In a resolution approved last Monday , Councilor Robert Tudayan, President of the PCL - Ilocos Sur Chapter and Ex - officio Member of the Provincial Board, said that 338 members of the councilor's league unanimously supported the leadership of President Arroyo and they also condemn all destabilization plots being hurled against the present administration.

The councilors abhorred any destabilization against President Aroyo saying that "the administration of the Honorable President is ,at present, the center of controversies and to bring her down to power; however, there are many important matters to be done instead of fomenting disorder and civil disobedience to our countrymen."

The councilors also added that violence of any unconstitutional means or processes should be condemned as a mean of achieving democracy and that any or all plans to transform the government should only be through democratic process.

Earlier, the members of the provincial board signified their full support to the leadership of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo after they also passed and approved a resolution condemning in the strongest possible terms of any extra -constitutional and extra legal moves to effect changes in government.

"We hereby declare our full support and stand united behind Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her programs of development, pro -poor initiatives for the people and her economic and political reforms to build a strong republic," they said in the resolution. (PIA Ilocos) [top]
