Sea Games result epitomizes united RP nation - YPAD
Manila (5 December) -- The Youth for Peace and Development (YPAD), through its spokesperson John Voltaire Almeda, has issued the following statement on SEA Games:
The exemplary performance of the Filipino athletes in the 23rd. SEAGAMES is a proof that if we will just forget our differences, we can reach new heights and conquer new sphere, amplifying the Filipino spirit of hospitality, sportsmanship, cooperation and camaraderie and the pursuit of excellence.
According to John Voltaire Almeda, spokesperson of Youth for Peace and Development (YPAD), their organization noted that the people behind the successful sports event are mixtures of different political personalities from different administrations.
"This is a clear manifestation that if we can only set aside our differences and cooperate towards a common goal, we can do it," Almeda said.
Almeda added that if political figures can let go of their political differences and fully cooperate in sports events, forging a One Philippines with sound political and economic nation is never impossible which will eventually redound to the benefit of the Filipino people.
In the recently concluded 23rd SEA Games, the officials who helped made the event successful were: Michael Keon, head of the Seagames training, is a nephew of President Ferdinand Marcos and Chairman of Philippine Sports Program then; Peping Coquangco, POC President is a COPA convenor, a relative of President Corazon Aquino; Robert Aventejado, Chairman of POC is a known Joseph Estrada supporter and Chairman of Government Flagship Program then and Atty. Jose Miguel Arroyo is the husband of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who spearheaded the fund support generation. (PIA) [top]
