Congress consults NegOr on charter
by Rachelle Nessia
Dumaguete City (13 December) -- The Congress recently sought the consensus of the community here on their preferred choice of form of government through a recently held Congressional Planning and Budget Committee at Bethel Guesthouse, Dumaguete City.
The consultation was a project of the Congressional Planning and Budget Department in partnership with the Consultative Constitutional Commission. The activity was a technical consultation on political, electoral and constitutional reforms.
There was a strong consensus to shift the government to the parliamentary system provided there are enough enabling laws to assure the implementation of its objectives.
The consultative team from Congress was led by Rudolfo Vicerra, director general; Lourdes Tiquia, general manager of Publicus Ltd; and Dr. Novel Bangsal, special operations project of the CPBD. (PIA) [top]
