Tandag town conducts jobs fair

by Primo Martho L. Oyan

TANDAG, SURIGAO DEL SUR (September 1) -- The municipality of Tandag, Surigao del Sur will conduct a 2-day Jobs Fair on September 7 and 8. The Jobs Fair is part of the ten day celebrations of its 384th town fiesta celebration.

According to the Local Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the jobs fair is a rare opportunity for the job seekers because there are different kinds of workers needed for abroad.

Among the jobs offered by the recruiters are domestic helpers, drivers, beauticians, nurses, construction workers and other skilled workers for the countries of Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai and Kuwait.

Ms. Mildred Barcenilla, Tandag Peso Manager, said no less than four recruitment agencies are coming based on the invitation sent by DOLE-Surigao del Sur Field Office. She added, the recruitment is also open to non-Tandag residents.

The Tandag PESO officer added, holding of jobs fair is already a regular activity of the local government of Tandag on special occasions like patronal fiesta celebrations and this would also answer the jobs generation program of the Arroyo administration. (PIA-Surigao del Sur) [top]
