Farm tools inputs for MKDA LGU members
Koronadal, South Cotabato (3 April) -- Various farm equipment and production inputs were given to the Metro Kutawato Development Alliance (MKDA) member-local government units at a ceremony held at the New City hall on 22 March 2007.
MKDA Executive-Chairman and Cotabato City Mayor Datu Muslimin G. Sema spearheaded the distribution of the farm equipment and inputs.
16 units of Jematic pumps, 4 units mobile rice mill, 27 units of knapsack sprayer, 6 floating tiller, 500 bags of open pollinated variety (OPV) corn seeds, 500 bags og urea, 500 bags of 16-20-00 fertilizer and 200 sets of foliar fertilizer were distributed.
Recipients of said farm equipment and inputs were farmers in the MKDA member municipalities of Datu Piang, Sultan Kudarat, Parang, Kabuntalan, Talayan and Talitay. The farmers from Cotabato City, Upi and Datu Odin Sinsuat already received their share from the project which is greatly supported by the Department of Agriculture.
MKDA members have received such assistance since 1999. Sema dismissed doubts that MKDA is for political purposes. He stressed that MKDA is only for development initiatives as evidenced by the programs projects in the past 7 years. (wrb/PIA 12) [top]
