Transco ensures reliable delivery of electricity during 5-day holiday

Tacloban City (April 4) -- Consumers need not worry a bit about power during the five day holiday from April 5 to April 9.

This is the pronouncement given by the National Transmission Corporation even as assures the public that it has put in place contingency measures in order to ensure the adequate and reliable delivery of electricity during the five-day holiday.

For one, the state-utility firm has enhanced its quick response capabilities in preparation for any power system disturbance and other emergencies during the long holiday, TransCo President and CEO Arthur N. Aguilar said.

Several of its vice presidents and assistant vice presidents have been assigned as officers of the day who will oversee day to day operations during the nation's observance of the Lenten Season and Araw ng Kagitingan.

The communications received from Ms. Edna Legaspina of TransCo stated that in the provinces, district and branch personnel of TransCo's operation and maintenance groups in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will report for duty during the holidays to coordinate closely with their counterparts at the National Power Corporation, Meralco, distribution utilities, electric cooperatives, and other customers.

Furthermore, TransCo line crews and power system engineers will also be available for immediate response during emergencies.

The same communication states that the public may send their inquiries and comments through TransCo TXT by typing in TELL and sending it to 0920-906-4946 or calling toll free number 1-80010-TRANSCO.

All these are part of TransCo's objective of giving the best service to the public in consonance of the Administration's good governance thrust. (PIA 8) [top]
