Security measures in place for 'Semana Santa'

Manila (4 April) -- Law enforcers assured that security measures are now in place to ensure public safety for the Semana Santa.

Police regional offices have been directed to field men and work closely with their partners in the barangays to prevent criminals, rebels and even terrorists to disrupt the Lenten holiday.

For their part, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) put up help desks in bus terminals.

LTFRB officials are urging vacationers to reduce their baggage to able to enjoy their trips to the provinces and other destinations.

Commuters in highways may also approach LTFRB help desks to avail free texts and calls in case of emergency. (PIA 10) [top]
