CSC offers dev't training for admin support staff

Tacloban City, Leyte (5 April) -- Aiming to have an efficient, competent and productive administration unit in a government institution the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has come up with a Development Training Program for Administrative Support Staff set on April 23-25, 2007.

In an interview with CSC Senior Personnel Specialist Emmanuel Fuentes, the three-day live out seminar was designed to enhance knowledge and skills of would be participants on systematic records filling, record keeping retrieval and disposition.

According to Fuentes, CSC hopes to target younger set of admin. support staff ranging from admin. assistant, those holding clerical functions and receptionists in order to build up a positive image in themselves and improve their personality style in dealing and handling office clients nicely and professionally.

The training will likewise change and improve admin support staff communication skills in effective speaking and listening ability especially in answering the telephone with proper manners. Many has observed that still some government employees doesn’t even know how to answer the telephone properly. The training will address such incompetence, he said.

It’s a program geared towards changing the work attitude of each employees. Republic Act 6713 otherwise known as the Code of Conduct will be emphasize particularly the rights, duties and responsibilities of a government employee will likewise be instilled he added.

The team building portion of the training he further said will keep the administrative unit personnel more closer with each other to work with a common goal of achieving the best for the office mission.

Letters of invitation were sent out to different government offices. A registration fee of Two Thousand Seven Hundred Pesos (P2,700.00) per participant will be charged to defray the training expenses.
