Defensor says Team Unity has genuine platform for public service
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (10 April) -– Senatorial candidate Mike Defensor has asked voters here Tuesday to fully support the members of Team Unity come May 2007 elections because of their concrete platforms for the country’s progress and development.
Speaking before reporters and supporters at the Saber Inn and Restaurant here where Defensor, along with other senatorial candidates of Team Unity concluded their campaign sortie in the province, the former chief of staff of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said they have clear programs and projects to move the country forward.
He also criticized the Genuine Opposition for their stance to topple the present administration without concrete programs for reform.
“It is very easy to criticize but we have to lay down alternative solutions to address the present problems of our country. Giving public service is a very difficult task and this is what Team Unity intends to do,” Defensor stressed.
Defensor said the country needs unity first so that unified efforts will be realized to attain economic programs for the poor.
Activities that tend to disunite and tarnish the image of the country must be avoided and instead help in the development and delivery of government programs and projects specially in the countryside where President Arroyo seeks to harness economic potentials of local government units through the creation of Super Regions, according to Defensor.
