CdO PPP goes to Dansolihon
Cagayan de Oro City (10 April) -- CITY Mayor Vicente Y. Emano will lead city government officials and employees in bringing the services of the People to People Program (PPP) to Barangay Dansolihon, one of the hinterland barangays of Cagayan de Oro tomorrow, April 11.
Now on its ninth years of reaching out to the poor people in the city’s hinterland barangays, the PPP will deliver basic social services in Dansolihon such as free medical and dental consultation; circumcision; dispersal of fruit and vegetable seedlings; nutritional feeding; late birth registration; livestock dispersal; animal vaccination and treatment; real property assessment; reading of different books and magazines; issuance of community tax certificates, among others.
In tomorrow’s outreach program, Emano is also expected to solemnize the mass wedding ceremony of unwed couples in Barangay Dansolihon who have been living together for at least five years.
Considered one of the highlights of the PPP, the mass weddings legalize the union of unwed couples and consequently legitimize the birth of their children who were born prior to their marriage.
On Friday, the People to People Program will also be held in Barangay Pagatpat, a sub-urban lowland barangay in the western part of the city.
The PPP is a regular program of the city government which aims to bridge the gap between the city government and the residents in hinterland barangays by reaching out to the people in the barangays by bringing basic government services right to their doorsteps.
