Roxas City (12 April) -- A three-day activities are being prepared by the provincial government of Capiz from April 13 to 15 in view of the 106th anniversary of the establishment of its civil government.
The civil or provincial government of Capiz was created by virtue of Act 115 on April 15, 1901.
Capiz Administrator Ronald Amigo said the celebration will roll off on April 13 with a thanksgiving mass at the Roxas City Metropolitan Cathderal, flag raising in front of the Provincial Capitol as well as unveiling of Capitol Marker at the Capitol building, and opening program at the Capiz Gymnasium here.
"The opening program will be a three-in-one activity because this will also include the distribution of audio-visual equipments for 23 teen centers and mass graduation of Binhi-an sa Barangay farmer-cooperators," emphasized Amigo.
The Binhian sa Barangay is a prototype program developed under the administration of Capiz Gov. Vicente Bermejo that provides for the distribution of free certified seeds to farmers, promotion and advocacy of organic farming, and provision of technical training to farmers.
A two-day sundown food festival at the Roxas City Plaza will also be set up on April 14 and 15 that will offer mouth-watering delicacies from the province's seafoods to pork and chicken menus, and other native dishes to partygoers.
