15 Zambo Norte studes hurdle DOST scholarship exam

Dipolog City (13 April) -- Fifteen students from the different towns and cities in Zamboanga del Norte made it in the scholarship examinations given in December last year by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Engr. Marcial R. Dahonan, provincial science and technology coordinator, bared that there were 131 graduating high school students who took the test in December from this province and only 15 successfully passed.
The successful examinees include Mark Jasper Cielo, Jurheen Insag, Lewey Jimoya, Jeazen Mae Quintero, Alcriss Tabiliran, Borjette John Villena, Jan Christian Malayang and Manuel Vic Lacaya of Dipolog City, Janino Gene Jatico and Haziel Marie Paculba of Dapitan City, Mark Jeznel Pantaleon of Rizal town, Feljore Tan and Jeanne Waren Tomogon of Katipunan, Ralph Anton Go of Polanco and Imari Jell Vidal of Roxas town.
Dahonan said the scholars shall enjoy free tuition fee, monthly stipend, book allowance, uniform allowance and transportation allowance. They must, however, take up courses in either natural or applied sciences in DOST-accredited schools.
Among the 15 passers from the province, two were students of the Philippine Science High Scholl-Central Mindanao Campus in Tubod, Lanao del Norte. They are Lewey Jimoya and Ralph Go.
Manuel Vic Lacaya, Jan Christian Malayang and Borjette John Villena were students of the special science curriculum at the Zamboanga del Norte National High School in this city.
Two from private schools in this city also passed the test, namely, Alcriss Tabiliran of the Dipolog Medical Center Science High School and Mark Jasper Cielo of the Andres Bonifacio College.
The passers from Dapitan City were students from Ilaya National High School and Sulangon National School in the persons of Haziel Marie Paculba and Janino Gene Jatico, respectively.
Jeazen Mae Quintero was a student of Galas National High School in this city, while Feljore Tan and Jeanne Warren Tomogon came from Katipunan National High School.
Imari Jell Vidal, a passer from Roxas town, was a student of Langatian National High School. (PIA) [top]
