4 human skeletons found in Cagayan
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (April 16) -- Another suspected mass grave has been found as four sets of human skeletons were dug up by villagers and soldiers in barangay Tubel in Allacapan town in Cagayan recently.
Major General Rodrigo Maclang, commanding officer of the Philippine Army’s 17th Infantry Batallion, 501st Infantry Brigade based in Camp Melchor dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela, the human skeletons were earlier discovered by farmers in the remote village who sought help from the army.
Maclang however criticized the procedure employed in digging the human skeletons because of the absence of Scene of the Crime Officers(SOCO) team of the Philippine National Police(PNP).
“Proper procedure should have been done before bringing the skeletons to the town proper,” Maclang said.
He said he maintains a hands off stance on the on-going investigation to prevent possible criticism from Party-list groups in the province.
Maclang said, relatives of the alleged missing persons had earlier helped in the recovery of the human skeletons. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
