Arroyo eyes P2B in agreements on China trip
Manila (17 April) -- With her originally scheduled five-city China trip cut to only one, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said she has made arrangements for all agreements she hopes to sign, totaling about P2 billion, to be inked in Boao.
Arroyo will be away from April 20 to 21 to speak at the Boao Forum in China's Hainan province.
Arroyo had to trim her original China schedule because of the aneurysmectomy and triple hearty bypass operation performed on her husband, Jose Miguel Arroyo, after an aortic aneurysm.
"It will now be cut down to April 20 and 21 and only in Boao, so all the agreement that may have had to be signed in other areas kung, if the signatories will agree, will be signed in Boao," she said in a pooled media interview.
Arroyo said the investments from China will further boost the country's economy, which she described as now taking off. (PIA-MMIO) [top]
