RDC-10 now accepts accreditation requests from private entities

Cagayan de Oro City (18 April) -- The Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC-10), the highest policy-making body in the region, is now accepting applicants from private sector organizations (PSOs) who wish to be accredited by the Council for the term 2007-2010. An RDC-accredited organization is a requirement for membership in the RDC-10 and for private sector participation in RDC-sponsored activities.

PSOs refer to organizations created or formed by private persons for the purpose of participating in socio-economic development activities, rendering social services or providing assistance to the general public. These include, among others, business organizations, non-government organizations (NGOs), industry associations, religious organizations, cultural associations, professional associations, civic clubs and cooperatives that are based in Northern Mindanao.

Interested PSOs must meet the following requirements: 1) legal personality- must be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Cooperative Development Authority, or any government agency which registers organizations and associations for purposes of bestowing legal personality; 2) performance – must have undertaken socio-economic projects in the immediate past three years within Northern Mindanao (Region-10); 3) nationality- must be a Filipino organization. Organizations managed by foreigners whose officers and members are primarily composed of foreign nationals, or are considered branches or affiliates of foreign organizations are disqualified.

PSOs who meet the above-requirements must submit the following: 1) Private Sector Profile Sheet, 2) Private Sector Representative Profile Sheet, 3) accomplishment report covering the immediate past three years and 4) documents indicating legal personality or certification from mother institution. The forms 1 and 2 are available at the NEDA-10 Office.

Deadline for submission of the applications is on May 15, 2007 at the National Economic and Development Authority Region 10 (NEDA-10) office located at corner Capistrano-Echem Sts., Cagayan de Oro City.
