Sec. Yap sets DA family’s monthly themes

Cagayan de Oro City (18 April) -- “Promoting the welfare of farmers and fisherfolk” is this month’s theme for the Department of Agriculture, with these key messages: “This is our focus and passion,” “Let’s continue to help them become successful entrepreneurs,” and “As we raise their productivity and incomes, we lift their living standards, and provide them and their children a better future”.

The monthly theme is in line with a memorandum issued by Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Arthur C. Yap to highlight major program initiatives and accomplishments of the department. This theme and key messages are to be relayed to the clientele, stakeholders and the general public.

Yap further urged dissemination of this during his provincial sorties like project launchings or inaugurations, industry conferences, consultations and meetings.

Adoption of a monthly theme was made effective last March of this year with the theme, “Raising agricultural productivity to new heights”.

Together with its theme are the key messages: The DA Family, through BFAR has put in place sound policies and programs to raising productivity and incomes of farmers, fisherfolk and countryside entrepreneurs; and to sustain this favorable trend “we call on the continued cooperation of concerned stakeholders and different sectors.” (BFAR-10) [top]
