Women’s Congress opens in Lumbia
Cagayan de Oro City (18 April) -- THE Barangay Women Development Council (BWDC) of Barangay Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City is set to hold a Women’s Congress tomorrow, April 18 at the Lumbia Central School covered court.
With the theme, “Women: Partner in Community Development”, the congress aims to heighten the awareness of barangay women along domestic violence and women’s rights.
Various topics concerning women will be discussed such as Why Gender is a development issue?, Anti-VAWC Law and Domestic Violence, Drug Abuse, The Role of Women in Community Development and Child Trafficking.
There will also be a film showing and workshop. The said activity is organized by the barangay council of Lumbia thru the Committee on Women and Family in cooperation with the Touch Foundation, KKP-SIP of Xavier University, Hansung Lumbia Church, Lumbia Central School, CSWD Sub-Office, Police Precinct 8, Community Improvement Division and the City Information Office.
