Search for "Ginang Alaska" 2007 on

Tacloban City (19 April) -- To give women the opportunity to uplift their dignity while performing their roles as housemakers, wives and mothers, a Search for Model Filipina Mothers is now on-going in Tacloban City per Memorandum of Agreement signed between the National Service Training Program (NSTP) of the Eastern Visayas State University and SPANK, an advertising Company responsible for the Ginang Alaska 2007 promotion.

This was learned from Mr. Tito Aure, NSTP Coordinator of the Eastern Visayas State University, who is also the overall coordinator of the project.

The search which started this April and which will end come May this year, is open to all legally married women aged 25 to 40 years old, at least 5'2" in height, and must have at least 2 years of college education. They must likewise be fun-loving, witty and emotionally, morally and physically fit.

The contestants must also have at least one child, and should be endorsed and supported by civic or religious organizations.

Adjudged Ginang Alaska 2007 will receive P10,000 in cash, an educational scholarship grant for a short course of choice worth P20,000, and P1,000 worth of Alaska products. Her supporting group will likewise receive P20,000 which should be utilized for a Community Development Project.

For the runners-up, cash awards of P5,000 and P3,000 await the first and second, respectively, plus P500 worth of Alaska products.

A pre-pageant is set to be held on May 19 to be followed by the coronation rites on May 20, this year.

Criteria for judging include Popularity which is 30%, Accomplishment 30%, Personality 20%, Projection 10% and Culinary Skills 10%.
