Koronadal, South Cotabato (20 April) -- There have been several cases of senseless campus killings in the United States, the latest in the Virginia Tech Massacre…
Saying that schools are “sanctuaries of learning for the youth,” President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo underscored today the need to keep all school campuses safe and secure to avoid incidents such as senseless killings that took place on Tuesday at the Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States.
At the same time, the President expressed her condolences to the grieving families, students, staff and faculty of the University and offered prayers from the victims of the worst school shooting in the Unites States history.
“We are one with the world in condoling with the victims of the senseless killings in the Virginia Tech University,” the President said in the statement.
What Cho Seung-Hui, a South Korean student at the Virginia Tech, who killed 32 people and injured 50 others before killing himself should never happen in our schools.
We abhor such senseless killings but we hope and pray that such killings would not happen in the country and security measures should be implemented in our schools. (PIA 12) [top]
