PNP reiterates compliance with election laws

by EA Abasquez

San Jose, Antique (23 April) -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) here reiterated for the compliance of Comelec Laws, as the Police steps up campaign on gun ban, conduct of check points and "Operation Baklas" among others, bared PSSupt. Ren T. Darroca, PNP Provincial Director.

The Comelec gun ban is being pursued to secure the citizenry and prevent the transport of illegal firearms, Darroca stressed and which has netted seven violators so far.

Another means to help ensure an orderly and peaceful election is the conduct of checkpoints. Provincial Director Darroca sounded off the need for the riding public/commuters to cooperate in order for the PNP to carry out its function for the safety of the people.

The holding of coordinating conference enhances inter-agency collaboration among partner/member agencies, like the media, the church or religious organizations to achieve its goal. Strengthening the institutional development effort and the networking process would facilitate appropriate action on problems presented or monitored.

The PNP in coordination with the Comelec, likewise conducts "Operation Baklas". Through this activity, election posters or propaganda materials of candidates not posted in designated Comelec poster areas are removed, hence, the PNP reiterates compliance of election laws, memoranda and related issuances for a peaceful election.
