DAF-ARMM attends 5th PAFC Summit
Koronadal, South Cotabato (25 April) -- This year's theme of the Mindanao wide summit of the Provincial Agriculture & Fishery Councils (PAFC) is "Mindanao's AFC Onwards -Strengthening extension services & market agri-products."
The 5th PAFC summit was held at the Mergande Resort in Davao City recently.
It Aims to come up and formulate actions adherence to the realization of the 6 priority agenda of DA Secretary Arthur Yap as follows: Irrigation, Research, Extension & Education; Post-harvest Facilities and other infra; Production Support; Micro Financing and Market Accessibility, geared toward food security in the country.
Highlighted during the said summit was the presentation of resolutions based on the theme in plenary session by the participants before NAFC Executive Director Atty. Bernie Fundevilla.
Fundevilla urged the participants to come up with the vision resolutions that will truly help the government in the elimination of extreme poverty and will prove that Mindanao as the food basket of the country.
DAF-ARMM Secretary Sajid Druz Ali visited the participants and gave moral support and expressed his gratitude for being the partners of DA in the mandated under the livelihood programs and projects and assured his support as mandated under the administration of Regional Governor Datu Zaldy Ampatuan.
The ARMM delegation was composed of Maguindanao PAFC chairman Datu Mando S. Guiwan, Coordinator Virginia Manuel, Lanao del Sur PAFC chair. H. Hasim Camad S. Laut, Vice-chair Alexander Basher and Coordinator Nasrodin A. Saripada. (wrb/PIA 12) [top]
