Palarong Pambansa holds presscon

Koronadal, South Cotabato (26 April) -- Palarong Pambansa 2007 host city headed by Mayor Fernando Q. Miguel and DepEd XII headed by RD Luz S. Almeda and ARD Amy U. Malbun met the national local media in a press conference at Media Center (2nd floor RO12 building) a day before the opening of the said event.

The said presscon which was facilitated by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region XII gave way to the media people to raise some issues and concerns regarding the Palaro proceedings like athletes incentives, security measures, accommodation, problems in some billeting quarters, criteria in choosing the overall champion, budget allotted to every region, media accommodation, the readiness of emergency action team, and the involvement of farther divisions in the purchase of beddings.

Issues and concerns raised by the media were properly responded by Mayor Miguel, RD Luz S. Almeda, ARD Amy U. Malbun and RD Olive Sudaria of PIA.

On the other hand, DepEd Usec Teodecio C. Sangil, Jr., OIC of Finance and Administrator expressed appreciation made by the host region for being prepared although the number of guests who came is more that what is expected. (PIA 12) [top]
