Koronadal PNP assures security of Palaro delegates

Koronadal, South Cotabato (26 April) -- The Philippine National Police has deployed personnel in securing the delegates of Palarong Pambansa 2007.

“Koronadal is generally a peaceful city, peace and order situation is manageable as compared to other cities”, said Supt Florendo Quidilla Jr., Chief of Police of Koronadal City.

Through the effort of P/Supt Quidilla in ensuring the safety of every delegate inside and outside Koronadal City, the PNP increase their Police Visibility and maintain checkpoints for the Fire Arm Ban within city.

Quidilla added, that there are also Armed Forces of the Philippines and Regional Mobile Groups deployed in some areas to secure the conduct of Palaro.

In addition to security forces, Peoples Brigade of Mayo Fernando Q. Miguel and Barangay Tanods were also deployed for an over all security in the billeting areas as well as in the playing venues.

He also cited that this year’s Palarong Pambansa is one way of promoting the Tourism Program of Koronadal City.

In the relation with this, he is requesting the community to be supportive and cooperative to the visitors to prove that Koronadal City is a loving and warm community. (PIA 12) [top]
