The present situation is that Davao City is confronted with the problem of denudation of forest, harmful aerial spraying wantonly by banana plantations and toxic waste dumping of industries, all of which pose danger and put out water resources at risk.

This condition alarmingly putting threat to both life and environment, these life-threatening issues impel us to respond through information and education specifically to stakeholders, leaders and decision-makers of the city. it is this context that such a forum is conducted.

The objectives of the forum include to inform the participants about the aerial spraying practices in the environmental critical area and the implication the Aerial Banning Ordinance to the community; to keep the participants abreast of the new Watershed Management Protection and Conservation Ordinance in Davao City; and to come up with an action plan that the women sector in Davao City can help protect and conserve the environment through proper implementation of the new ordinances in Davao City.
