RDC 8 online project develops 28 websites

Tacloban City (September 2) -- The Eastern Visayas Online Project of the Regional Development Council has already developed 28 regional websites of RDC members.

The EV Online Project was approved by RDC through RDC Resolution No. 43 series of 2006. The necessary funding was appropriated from RDC funds for the implementation and maintenance of the project.

RDC started the implementation of EV Online in December and within that month, the EV Online portal was developed. The templates for the websites of all RDC members were also developed in December.

In January 2007, the EV Online has developed the websites of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, PhilHealth, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

In February, the EV Online developed the websites of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Justice-Parole and Probation Office and the Department of Labor and Employment.

In March, the EV Online developed the websites of the Bureau of Local Government Finance, the Philippine Information Agency, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Pag-ibig.

In April, the websites of the Department of Education, the Department of Agriculture, Marina and PopCom were developed while the websites of HLURB, National Telecommunications Commission, PAO and RITECC were developed in May.

The websites of the Office of Civil Defense, NEDA, LTO and NAPOLCOM were developed in June while the websites of SDC, NSO, Telof and Comelec were developed in July.

NEDA Director and RDC Vice Chair Buenaventura Go-soco Jr., informed the body that as of July 31, the website of the Philippine Information Agency has the highest average monthly clicks, from surfers in various countries. This, he said shows the thirst of people on information.

Director Go-soco also urged the RDC members with websites developed by EV Online to post their website address in their office stationary, publications and bulletin boards. (PIA 8) [top]
