Quirino police burn P2M worth of marijuana plants
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (September 4) -- Police authorities in Diffun town in Quirino province on Saturday burned the 172 pieces of fully grown Marijuana plants which were confiscated earlier last month.
Police Senior Superintendent Teodoro Zingapan, police provincial director said the Marijuana plants valued at P2 million were discovered in barangay Macate in Diffun town in Quirino in coordination with barangay officials.
Zingapan said the plants were cultivated by couple Mario and Julieta Ngo-oy since January this year within a 400 square meter in barangay Macate.
The Marijuana plants which were confiscated in August 1 were tipped by Macate barangay captain Dionicio Radam and his council members.
The Ngo-oy couple are now awaiting court hearing for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or Illegal Drugs Act. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
