850 jobless Bacolodnons avail of skills training
Bacolod City (4 September) -- More than 850 unemployed individuals from various barangays in this city have benefited from the series of skills trainings being conducted by the Bacolod City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office.
The skills training program is one of the activities being undertaken by the administration of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia to promote small and medium scale enterprises and provide more job opportunities.
Among the skills trainings conducted are meat processing, manufacture of powder soap, liquid dishwashing, fabric conditioner, perfume, macramé belt, jewelries and accessories and chocolate making and designing.
Other basic trainings were reflexology and massage therapy, hair cutting and make-up.
After attending the trainings, participants set up their own enterprises to earn their own profits. (PIA) [top]
