Feature: ARMM as part of the investment world

Cotabato City (4 September) -- Moner Dumama, executive director of the Regional Board of Investment (RBOI) in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), said that the 6th ARMM Business Congress (ABC) is a way of putting the autonomous region "as part of the investment in the world."

While Datu Haron U. Bandila ABC chairman and assistant secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, said the previous congresses p0aved way for the setting up of the business climate in the ARMM.

The 6th Business Congress is a "follow through" to further promote the ARMM as a "haven for investment" and concretize committed ventures through forging agreements. "It is a way of radiating busine4ss interaction," said Bandila.

The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the ARMM Business Council (ABC) and the Makati Business Club and Presentation of Business Matching Agreements are two of the features of the 6th ARMM Business Congress to be held at the El Manuel Entertainment and Convention Center in Cotabato City on 04-05 September 2007.

The Maguindanao Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the host chamber to the event which will serve as venue to present the autonomous region's potential investment areas for possible business partnership among member chambers of the ABC and domestic foreign investors.

ABC chairman Bandila said the MOA signing would enable the two business organizations to interact in terms of business matching and technology information and transfer, thus, "helpful to the needs of our business sector."

The plenary sessions will focus on business in the ARMM, citing discussions on franchising, business process outsourcing, mariculture parks, corn production and processing, biofuels, abaca production and processing, and halal initiatives.
