Tagalog News: Edukasyon bibigyang pansin ng pamahalaan

Manila (5 September) -- Sa ginanap na roundtable discussion sa Heroes Hall ng Malakanyang kamakailan, pinapurihan ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ang mga Pilipinong mag-aaral sa sekondarya na lumahok at nagtagumpay sa international Math and Science competitions.

Inanunsiyo din ng Pangulo na bibigayan pansin nito ang lalo pang pagpapaunlad sa edukasyon ng mga mag-aaral kung kayat naglaan ito ng mas malaking pondo para sa bansa sa susunod na taon.

Kaugnay nito, inihayag ni DOST Secretary Estrella Alabastro na ang kanilang tanggapan ay maglalaan ng P100 milyon para sa bachelor's degree scholarships at P175 milyon para sa masteral at doctorate scholarships kung saan mabebenipisyuhan nito ang mga karapat-dapat na mag-aaral.

Sa kasalukuyan, natuwa naman ang pamahalaan sa naging resulta ng National Achievement Test (NAT) ng mga mag-aaral sapagkat patunay lamang ito na mas umunlad ang kanilang kaalaman kumpara ng nakaraang taon at umaasa ang pamahalaan na ito ay higit na uunlad pa sa susunod na taon dahil sa mas malaking pondong nakalaan dito.
